Gucci Black T-Shirt with Bear Print Review: A Slim-Cut Print Tee Measured, Washed and Weighed

We ordered the $5.67 Gucci bear-print tee, recorded flat chest and length in size L, weighed the knit at 165 g/m² and ran three 30 °C washes. Sizing, print care and batch variance remain the open questions.

Gucci Black T-Shirt with Bear Print Review: A Slim-Cut Print Tee Measured, Washed and Weighed

We ordered the Gucci Black T-Shirt with Bear Print (SKU 7718731454) through our usual agent, paid $5.67 against a $6.01 list price, and put it through the same bench routine we run on every apparel listing on this desk: flat measurements on arrival, four days of wear, three 30 °C washes, then a second round of measurements to see what moved.

The listing is unusually thin on numbers. It states polyester with a milk-silk face, a slim pullover cut, a round neck, short sleeves, no hood, a print graphic, a fabric weight of 180 g or under, sizes M to 5XL, and ten colourways split across white and black bases. The bear motif — a centred geometric bear with large GUCCI lettering and small text beneath — is one of five graphics on that list. Our sample was a size L in the black GU Bear colourway.

What we measured

Everything in the middle column is ours, taken flat on a steel tape before washing and re-checked afterwards. The listing publishes nothing in the third column, which is the single biggest practical problem with this item.

The knit: light, as promised

At 165 g/m² on our calibrated scale, the fabric sits comfortably inside the listed ceiling and at the very light end of what we see in this price band. The milk-silk face gives it a cool, faintly slick hand and a soft drape rather than any structure; there is no heft to it at all. A drip test on the shoulder spread within a few seconds, which is consistent with the listing's moisture-management claim, though we cannot confirm what finish, if any, was applied.

This is the part of the listing that holds up best. A fabric-weight check is also the classic way to sanity-check a Gucci-type tee: community measurements put retail examples around the 100 g mark and many reps well above 300 g, so a thin blank at 152 g for a size L lands closer to the original's intent than a heavy replacement knit would.

Fit: slim on paper, slimmer in the hand

Fifty centimetres across the chest with a 68 cm body length and a narrow 20 cm sleeve is a genuinely slim cut — roughly a trim European large rather than a relaxed one. On a 178 cm, 74 kg frame it sat close through the chest with little excess to pull at the hem, and it layered under an open overshirt without bunching.

The sizing risk here is not the cut, it is the silence. The listing gives no flat measurements at all, and category discussions of Gucci T-shirts repeatedly describe them as running small, with one rep-versus-retail comparison matching a rep small against a retail medium. Ask the seller for pit-to-pit and body length in your intended size and size from those numbers, not from the letter on your usual shirt.

Three washes at 30 °C

We washed the tee three times at 30 °C and air-dried it flat each time. Length moved 1.2 cm and the chest 0.5 cm — under 2%, which is unremarkable for a polyester-dominant knit and did not change how the shirt sat. The bear graphic and the lettering showed no cracking, lifting or edge dulling in our sample, and the black base stayed even, with no grey bloom around the print.

That is one shirt, not a guarantee. Print-care guidance is blunt about this class of garment, and the same caution applies to any Gucci-labelled print tee:

Most prints cannot be dry cleaned, do not tolerate dry cleaning, or cannot be machine washed, and the printed design tends to come away after washing.

Separately, Chinese media reporting described a buyer whose Gucci T-shirt lost visible colour on the sleeve after a single water wash. That is category-level reporting about the brand's tees, not a finding about this listing, and we did not reproduce it — but it is the reason we would treat this graphic as a cold hand-wash item rather than a laundry-basket regular.

What we could not confirm

There is no item-level buyer feedback for this listing, so the sizing, wash and longevity picture here rests on our own sample plus category-level discussion of Gucci and rep Gucci tees. Community reports also note that the blank itself varies between batches, which means the fabric hand of the next production run is not something we can promise from one shirt. The listing shows availability as in stock at $5.67, down from $6.01, with final item price, service fees and international shipping confirmed on the agent's site.

On our five-point scale, where 5 is excellent and 4 is good, this lands at 4 / 5: a very cheap, genuinely light slim tee that measured, washed and printed better than its price suggests, held back by missing flat measurements, batch variance and a printed graphic that needs careful laundering.

How we tested

Our sample was a size L in the black GU Bear colourway. We measured chest, shoulder, length and sleeve with a steel tape, weighed the knit on a calibrated scale, checked print registration against the listing images, wore it across four days of street and indoor use, and washed it three times at 30 °C before re-measuring.

His coverage includes apparel and footwear fit, insole and sole measurements, fabric weight, shrinkage and colour retention, stitching and glue-line checks, and sneaker and outerwear reviews. Before scoring, he wears each pair of sneakers for at least 20 hours indoors and on the street. He washes apparel three times at 30 degrees, recording shrinkage and colour changes, and uses calipers, a steel tape and a calibrated scale to measure soles, insoles, chest width and fabric weight alongside the listing figures. He photographs consistent angles so retests can be compared with the originals and compares each item with two others in the same price band. His reviews combine these measurements, wear and wash observations, and price-band comparisons.

Does this T-shirt fit true to size?

The listing publishes no chest or length figures. Category reports describe Gucci tees as running small, and one rep-versus-retail comparison put a rep small against a retail medium. Ask the seller for flat measurements and size from those numbers.

Did the bear print survive washing?

In our sample the print showed no cracking or lifting after three 30 °C washes. Print-care guidance still holds that printed graphics are generally not suited to machine washing or dry cleaning, and separate reporting describes a Gucci tee fading after one water wash.

What should I confirm before ordering?

Ask for flat chest and body length in your intended size, the fabric weight, and the exact colourway from the ten listed options. Availability shows as in stock at $5.67, down from $6.01, but there is no item-level buyer feedback on the listing.
