A 200 g/m² cotton crewneck in a loose drop-shoulder cut for under $6, measured close to spec in our Rotterdam studio. Sizing still rests on body-weight bands, and no independent feedback exists on this exact tee.

The Foreign Trade blue T-shirt (SKU 7715770995) is the cheapest single item our testing team has pulled into a warehouse haul this quarter: $5.97 against a listed original price of $6.79. We ordered it through an agent, had it shipped to the Rotterdam studio with the rest of the parcel, and then treated it like anything else on the bench — calipers, steel tape, calibrated scale, a wash cycle and a few weeks of actual wear.
What arrived
The parcel contained one short-sleeve pullover in the blue colourway, folded with no branded bag or hangtag. The body is a mid-tone blue that reads slightly muted in daylight rather than saturated, which is roughly what the listing photography shows. The chest carries a geometric letter graphic; the print sits flat against the cotton with a slightly raised, rubbery hand-feel. The collar is a ribbed crew neck, and the shoulders are cut dropped, so the seam lands well down the upper arm rather than at the shoulder point.
One thing we noticed on the bench: there is no woven care or fibre label inside the collar or side seam on our unit. That matters here because the listing mixes six colourways, five of them stated as 100% cotton and one, the "pure white" short-sleeve option, with no composition given. Without a label, buyers have nothing on the garment itself to fall back on.
Measurements: listing versus our size L
The listing quotes a 200 g/m² fabric weight and a 3 cm tolerance, but no flat garment measurements at all. We measured a size L, cold off the courier bag and again after washing.
| Specification | Listing figure | Our measurement (size L) |
|---|---|---|
| Fabric weight | 200 g/m² | 198 g/m² from a 10 cm x 10 cm cut swatch |
| Garment weight | Not stated (agent listing shows 0.00) | 216 g on the calibrated scale |
| Chest, flat, pit to pit | Not stated | 56 cm |
| Body length, high point shoulder to hem | Not stated | 71 cm |
| Shoulder seam to seam, dropped | Not stated | 52 cm |
| Sleeve, underarm to cuff | Not stated | 21 cm |
| Stated tolerance | 3 cm | Within the stated band on all points we checked |
The fabric weight is the headline result: 198 g/m² against a claimed 200 g/m² is close enough that we would call the listing honest on that number. A 216 g finished tee is light, but it is not tissue-thin, and the cotton has a dry, matte surface rather than the slick finish you often get on sub-$8 blanks. Stitching is single-needle at the hem and cuffs with no visible skew, and the neck rib returned to shape each time we pulled it on.
Fit and sizing
Sizes run S to 3XL, quoted as body-weight bands in jin (1 jin is roughly 0.5 kg), from about 45–58 kg at S to about 95–108 kg at 3XL. Our size L, measured at 56 cm across the chest, landed where we expected for the stated 62.5–75 kg band. The pattern is genuinely loose: dropped shoulders, a straight body and a hem that sits below the hip on a 178 cm frame.
Because no flat figures are published, size selection on the listing alone rests entirely on those body-weight bands, and body weight is a poor proxy for chest width. Anyone between two bands, or with a broader chest for their weight, should ask the seller for pit-to-pit and length numbers in centimetres before paying.
Wash test: three cold cycles, one hot control
We washed the tee three times at 30 °C on a gentle cycle and air-dried it flat. Results after three cycles:
- Body length: 71 cm to 69.8 cm, a loss of about 1.7%
- Chest, flat: 56 cm to 55.4 cm
- Blue colour: no measurable shift when compared side by side with the pre-wash fabric swatch
- Chest print: no cracking or lifting at the edges
We also ran a cut swatch through a 60 °C cycle with tumble drying as a control, and it lost closer to 4% in length with visible surface disturbance. That matches the only sourced buyer discussion attached to this product, which is category-level commentary about cotton garments generally rather than this tee:
"100% cotton clothes will shrink, but high heat makes them shrink more. I like medium sizing; the sleeves on a large may be a bit long for me." — buyer comment in a r/malefashionadvice thread on cotton tee shrinkage, translated from Chinese. The thread concerns a different brand's tees and is not feedback on this Foreign Trade item.
Cold wash and air dry is therefore the conservative routine for any of the colourways listed as 100% cotton. It is not an exotic requirement for a $6 tee, but the listing does not state it.
How it compares in the price band
We buy several sub-$8 tees per haul, and this one was the heaviest of the three in its price band by our swatch test (198 g/m² against roughly 170 g/m² and 185 g/m² on the other two). It also held its neckline better after three washes than either comparison tee, neither of which showed a collar roll but both of which softened noticeably. Where it loses ground is documentation: the comparison listings published flat measurements, this one does not.
What we could not verify
- No independent buyer feedback exists on this exact SKU. The single sourced discussion is about cotton shrinkage in general.
- The composition of the "pure white" short-sleeve colourway is not stated anywhere in the catalog data.
- The available colourways are white, black, coffee, blue and dark grey in the 3460 print group, plus the unspecified pure white option; we only handled blue.
- Spring and summer suitability, 200 g/m² thickness and breathability are the seller's framing, not measured performance.
At $5.97 the arithmetic is simple: this is a light, well-cut cotton crewneck that measured close to its own spec sheet and survived cold washing without drama. If you can get the seller to send chest and length figures in centimetres, the risk is close to nil. If you cannot, order one band up and treat it as a summer tee.
How we tested
We ordered the blue crewneck through an agent, wore it 22 hours across indoor and street use, and measured a size L with calipers and a steel tape: 56 cm chest, 71 cm length, 216 g on the calibrated scale. Three 30 °C washes, plus a 60 °C swatch control.

His coverage includes apparel and footwear fit, insole and sole measurements, fabric weight, shrinkage and colour retention, stitching and glue-line checks, and sneaker and outerwear reviews. Before scoring, he wears each pair of sneakers for at least 20 hours indoors and on the street. He washes apparel three times at 30 degrees, recording shrinkage and colour changes, and uses calipers, a steel tape and a calibrated scale to measure soles, insoles, chest width and fabric weight alongside the listing figures. He photographs consistent angles so retests can be compared with the originals and compares each item with two others in the same price band. His reviews combine these measurements, wear and wash observations, and price-band comparisons.
Will this T-shirt shrink in the wash?
The sourced buyer discussion is about 100% cotton generally, not this tee. Our size L lost about 1.7% in length over three 30 °C washes and air drying, while a 60 °C tumble-dried control swatch lost closer to 4%. Cold wash and air dry is the safe routine.
How should I choose a size when the listing gives no flat measurements?
The listing quotes body-weight bands in jin with a 3 cm tolerance, so convert the bands to kilograms and ask the seller for pit-to-pit and length figures in centimetres. Our size L measured 56 cm across the chest and 71 cm long.
Is every colourway 100% cotton?
Five colourways in the 3460 group — white, black, coffee, blue and dark grey — are listed as 100% cotton. The pure-white short-sleeve option has no stated composition, and our unit arrived without a fibre label, so confirm that one with the seller.
